I was at the "All things Vintage and Lovely Fair" at the Imperial hotel, Torquay on Sunday with my Photobooth. There was the initial " Oh I dont like having my picture taken" but as soon as they knew props were involved I had a long que waiting to get snapped!

The feather boa seemed the hot prop along with the funky glasses! Fake tashes, bowler hats, clapper boards were also kicking around!

The day was a huge success with Wendy and Jo doing a sterling job raising lots of money for charity.

An awesome day!

Spent the day with one of the top UK Photographers, Steve Gerrard at The Custard Factory in Birmingham last week. I was keen to brush up on my skills and learn some valuable lessons from Steve and having spent the morning hearing about how Steve has clearly nailed it as a Photographer, we then spent the afternoon walking around the urban setting which surrounded The Custard Factory and joined Steve on a shoot with Lana & Jamie.

Naomi & Darren :: Country Wedding :: Stockland

This was to be my last Wedding of the year no doubt the most anticipated. I had already been to see Naomi at the venue and couldn't believe I was going to get the chance to photograph what was always going to be a beautiful day.

Having sent out a booking form some 12 months previously, I was very pleased to see read the words, "Bunting & Cream Tea" as there theme! This was right up my street!

On the morning I arrived, having driven down the long lane to the cottage where Naomi was getting ready, it looked as though the weather would play a big part but it was again very kind to us. Makeup and hair arrived and Oliver (Naomi and Darren's Son) was running around amusing himself.

I got to work in my own unintrusive way and was surprised at the calm atmosphere as they girls got nearer to half past 2. Flowers arrived along with Naomi's Dad...He looked very proud!

Having parked in the village car park I made the short walk to the church and through the small street where the couple would later walk to the reception from the church. Lined with Old phone boxes and fuel pumps it made a stunning backdrop. I was going to be busy later on!!

Darren waited at the church door for the nod from the vicar who had one eye on the clock by this point and then signalled Naomi had arrived.............Places everyone!

Naomi and her Dad made their way down the isle slowly followed by Oliver who had found the toys in the corner and was making his own entertainment. He provided a lot of focal points throughout the service and had the vicar in tears of laughter at one point!

The couple then led their guests from the church to the reception through the village streets of Stockland. We were met with a huge Marque, Bunting, Real Ale and Ploughman's, followed by Cream Teas........Perfect and very fitting.

Claire & Piers :: Wedding :: Torquay

As I get nearer to the end of the year and out of the summer months I was convinced this one was going to be the one that threw it down with rain (That's was the forecast!) Thankfully...it didn't and the weather was very kind.

I arrived early to see Claire with her hairdresser, her Mum & Dad sorting out the last minute bits and bobs. The Bridesmaids started to arrive and so the day began...

I left to try and catch Piers at the church. With his Best man and Ushers in tow he was the picture of calm. I had a pre warning from one of the best men that I should keep an eye out on when they both kneeled down for the blessing...nothing more was said!

Claire soon arrived in one of the most funky wedding cars I have seen for a while, it certainly had a few tricks up its sleeve!

So with the ceremony underway I kept an eagle eye out for the blessing...down they went and this revealed the letters "L" & "R" on the bottom of Piers's shoes! I think he was unaware of this and the church was now in on the joke. Thanks for the heads up lads!

The reception was superb and very well styled with their own little touches. A real favourite of mine was the table settings for each table...Piers being a fan of the old school actors had labeled each table with a photo and a quote (Superb touch!) Caine, Ustanov, O'Toole, Niven, Oliver, Reed, Coward, Cook to name a few.

The bond influence on the cake was awesome.

Had a visit to South West Studios this week for a Studio Lighting workshop.

The shoot took on more of a theme as we went along. Big thank you to Ian Dowler of South West Studios and to Ashton who kindly modelled for the day.

Becky & Dave's Wedding.

So it was Mid July, the weather was stunning as usual and today (23rd July) I was off to Lakeside, Roadford Lake in Lifton to photograph Becky & Dave's wedding.

A slight delay on the A30 had meant the majority of the wedding party were late and this included Dave and his party! The organiser of Lakeside was showing his nerves about this alot more than Becky who was a picture of calmness whilst getting ready.

Scott, Becky and Dave's son, took it upon himself to make sure everything was sorting itself out and was a great help. He looked like he had a check list in his head and was marking it off as he went along. Thanks Scott!

I was then given the nod that Dave and the rest of the groom's party had arrived...by Scott shouting...THEY'RE HERE!!!

Time was of the essence as they grabbed their packed suits and with limited rooms for them, they decided to all get ready in the ceremony room. I think the fact they were all rugby lads helped! A few dodgy poses and that was it...everyone was ready!

A great day and thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome and a massive congratulations to Becky and Dave Upham.

Emma & Adam, Lakeview

Back in April I was at Lakeview to photograph Emma & Adam's wedding. It was a glorious day (Very Hot!) I Had already been to the venue for their Pre Wedding images, it was a stunning place with a huge lake finishing it off!

As I arrived I could see the bride party getting ready in the upstairs room which overlooked the lake. Lots of running around as you would imagine! As I went upstairs, I couldn't have been more surprised, the girls were so relaxed and Emma and her mum had everything under control.

Later I had the opportunity to look around the finished venue and rooms downstairs. It was stunning and the florists were taking a well earned sit down with a swift half, (I'm sure they wont mind me putting that!) Lots of sweets for on display for the kids and I'm sure the adults helped themselves!!

A quick walk back upstairs and the girls were almost there, looking out the top window waiting for everyone to arrive. Emma looked stunning and her mum looked very proud!

The guests began to arrive and the characters made themselves known to me in the only way they know how to. Very amusing! Adam then came down the drive and spoke to everyone in the courtyard. If he was nervous, he didn't show it. A quick chat with the registrar and he was ready to go. The ceremony was beautiful and the remainder of the day matched it.

A big thank you to Emma & Adam for allowing me to share their day...

Ok so the brief was quite simply, One Shot a day, however you had to just take "One Shot!" So no checking the exposure or taking a load until you were happy. Bit nervey but it paid off...

Lemonhead Photography Group, Project 13 :: Faces

Project 13 is up and running now. Been going for a week or so. The brief is simply, take a picture of a face, head and shoulders, for 28 days.

Its alot more difficult than it sounds...Here goes though...

We were given a song title from The Beatles Album "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band", I was given the song "She's Leaving Home". This is how I interpretated it. I went for photo 4 as the main submission but here are a couple of the others I had.

Last weekend I joined Emma & Adam at their Wedding Venue, Lakeview Manor in Dunkerswell. Its a stunning setting with great backdrops. A little overcast that day, but that all helps to the mood of the photographs.

We had the "I hate having my photograph taken" and all the usual, but they soon relaxed and thought about thier big day in April.

Welcome to my New Blog for Chris Fishleigh Photography. Ok so it may look basic at the moment, trying a few new ideas out at the moment, New Logo, re branding etc. Thanks to my brother Andrew who has been working hard to edit the new logo, cant wait to see the final image.

Here you will find various bits and pieces that I have been photographing. Always trying to develop the style but I think im slowly getting there!

The subjects range from Weddings to Portraits and what ever in between. Please feel free to comment on the posts and follow this blog.
